What the English levels & budget mean

"Live & date easily" is the B2 level (EF ≥ 550) — people can follow TV, read a paper, and hold a real conversation, so daily life and romance work. That keeps genuinely English-easy places like Belgrade (Serbia is #25 in the world), Warsaw and Buenos Aires, while still screening out the São Paulo / Bangkok problem below it. "Near-native" is the stricter professional level; native English is easiest but pricey (New York, Sydney). Budget caps the national price level vs the US (Affordable ≈ 60% of US prices or less). Note this is a country-level World Bank figure, so a capital's own city cost sits above it — the rent shown per city is the local, current figure (e.g. Athens rent is a Q1-2026 Greek property-portal number, not the national average).

Region shown — tap a region to hide it
Religion shown — tap a group to hide it (country's majority faith)
Gender norms (optional) — the country's gender-equality level (UNDP GII); off by default
Religiosity (optional) — how religious the country is (Pew "% who say religion is very important"); off by default
Cultural values (optional) — WVS self-expression vs survival (tolerance, trust, openness vs security, conformity); off by default
Your physical type (optional) — tap what draws you. This re-orders cities by how common the look is; it never hides any.
How looks are used (a sort, never a filter)

Looks are a sort, not a filter — they re-order cities by how common that appearance is, they never rule a city out. Height and build are for the men/women you seek; colouring uses hair and eye data; skin and face shape are not in any data. Where a chosen trait has no local figure, the city is scored at the average so a gap neither helps nor hurts.

Enneagram, filters & how this is built

Enneagram — for you to work with, not a map

There is no data on where enneagram types live, so this does not touch the ranking. It is here so you can read your own core motivation and fear, and know what to look for in someone you meet. Type your enneagram (like 7w8).

How this is built, and what it can't tell you

Type shares come from a large but self-selected online personality sample, converted from the Big Five by cutting each axis at its real population base rate. When you choose women or men, the shares are split by sex using the established global sex differences in the Big Five (women average higher Agreeableness → more Feeling types, and higher Neuroticism → more Turbulent; men the reverse), so "seeking women" and "seeking men" show that sex's type mix. These sex differences are global for now — the split direction is right everywhere, but it does not yet vary by country (per-country data is a planned upgrade), so read the sex split as broad, not exact. The ranking is by concentration (match rate), so it rewards where your type is common, not just where a city is big; the candidate count is context only. This is a place to point your search, not a verdict on any person.
